About
IQ Spacecom’s Patch Antennas are flexible receiver and transmitter antennas designed for CubeSats and small satellites, built using cost-effective commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components for high reliability. They feature an exceptionally flat and robust design with an ultra-small shape that seamlessly integrates with the outer structure of a CubeSat, and support circular polarization (RHCP & LHCP) for a robust link regarding steering accuracy to the ground station antenna. The antennas are offered in single patch, dual patch (separate Rx and Tx patches), and high gain variants. Frequency bands include S-Band (single patch antennas at different center frequencies, dual patch antennas with dedicated Rx/Tx patches, and high gain S-Band antennas for LEO missions), X-Band (single and high gain ultra-flat patch antennas for pico and nano satellite applications enabling simultaneous satellite-to-ground radio links), and L-Band (optimized for the XLink-L transceiver, with a flexible design allowing separate Rx and Tx antennas, suited for CubeSats as well as larger satellites). Antennas can be fully customized in frequency, bandwidth, size, gain, and pattern, and short delivery times are offered. When combined with the XLink SDR transceiver, the antennas support a link budget suitable for LEO satellites, ensuring a secure and reliable communication path between satellite and Earth. The design is flight-proven at TRL 9. Custom/individual patch antenna designs are also available on request to meet specific customer requirements.
