Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Space Switch
The Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Space Switch is a managed Ethernet switch with up to 5 ports, ideal for mounting in small satellite structures and compatible with the XLink SDR transceiver.
Description
The Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Space Switch is designed for small satellite applications, offering a robust and resilient solution for space environments. It features a compact design for easy integration into various small satellites, including MiniSats, MicroSats, and CubeSats, with a low mass of 150 grams and an ultra-small volume of less than 0.2 U. The switch is built with a robust aluminium housing and extremely rugged, low-profile connectors, ensuring durability in harsh conditions. It is radiation tolerant and operates with a DC supply voltage of 9-36V, consuming typically 3.5W, across a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. The GbE Space Switch is compatible with the XLink Platform, making it an ideal solution for managing multiple XLink units for standard TM/TC applications and high-speed data downlinks with Ethernet. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbit/s over up to 5 Ethernet ports, enabling reliable and efficient data connectivity between satellite modules. Its highly reliable architecture is ensured by the use of well-known COTS components and a space-qualified design for improved system interoperability.
