About

The IQ Spacecom X Link-X is an advanced transceiver system (Software Defined Radio – SDR) designed for X band communication links of small satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Its mechanical dimensions are suitable for 1U CubeSats as well as larger satellites. The radio interface and protocol adhere to standard CCSDS protocols. It supports downlink data rates with very high net payload rates of up to 200 Mbps. Supported modulation schemes include BPSK, QPSK, and higher-order types of modulation with appropriate FEC encoding schemes. Adaptive modulation and coding schemes (AMC) can be applied to maximize data throughput. The satellite receiver (uplink) for telecommand purposes is designed for standard CCSDS BPSK with BCH coding and net data rates of at least 56 kbps. Alternative X band or S band uplink receiver frequencies are also usable. The data interface is based on CCSDS transfer frames. A special feature of the XLink-X transceiver is the optional application of two separate Tx channels, which can be used either to increase transmit power or for redundancy. It is a fully featured and transparent bidirectional X band transceiver (SDR), CCSDS compliant for physical and synchronization layers, and features a flight-grade tested design. It comes in a compact case with low power consumption and an extra flat patch antenna design matched to customer-specific frequencies. The product is based on a low-cost COTS design and offers short delivery times. Optional equipment includes Tx/Rx X & S band patch antennas for satellite transceiver applications, as well as customer-specific designs and turn-key solutions.
