About
The Jena-Optronik ASTROgyro is an integrated attitude determination system combining ASTRO APS star trackers (AGS units) with Coriolis Vibratory Gyroscopes in an Inertial Reference Unit (AGI). The system provides full 3-axis attitude measurement with superior performance during high slew rates and bridging during star tracker outages. Standard configuration is two AGS star sensors plus one AGI IRU in a cross-strapped hot- or cold-redundant arrangement. The AGI IRU provides 30 Hz attitude rate output with less than 0.005 deg/sqrt(hr) angle random walk and less than 0.05 deg/hr bias instability. Full ITAR-free design available. First flight on SES-20 and SES-21 geostationary satellites, TRL 9.
