KOMPSAT-7 & 7A EO/IR Payload

Building on the KOMPSAT-3A IR sensor heritage, Hanwha Systems is developing advanced EO and IR payloads for the KOMPSAT-7 and KOMPSAT-7A satellites. The KOMPSAT-7 payload features a super-resolution camera, while the 7A variant adds day/night IR imaging capability. These payloads are intended for what the company describes as ‘the world’s most technologically advanced’ multi-purpose satellites and represent the culmination of Hanwha Systems’ multi-decade investment in space optics and sensor technology.

As the only Korean company capable of delivering all three major sensor modalities (EO, IR, and SAR) for military reconnaissance satellites, Hanwha Systems enables South Korea to field a fully sovereign, multi-spectral space reconnaissance capability across its satellite programs.
