Military Reconnaissance Satellite SAR Payload

Hanwha Systems’ Military Reconnaissance Satellite SAR Payload provides synthetic aperture radar imaging capability that operates through clouds, rain, and darkness — overcoming the limitations of optical sensors. The payload was developed leveraging the company’s AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar expertise and partnerships with global space leaders.

It is integrated alongside a high-resolution optical camera and a day/night infrared sensor, making Hanwha Systems the only Korean company able to deliver all three modalities (EO, IR, SAR) for the same satellite class. This tri-modal capability gives the Korean military an all-conditions, all-weather intelligence gathering capability that eliminates the coverage gaps associated with single-modality satellite systems.
