The Mechanical Unit of Antenna Pointing System, Type 1, provides rotation of the mounting plane for an antenna relative to the mounting plane of the antenna pointing system control module in two mutually perpendicular planes. It functions as a two-degree-of-freedom electromechanical drive for antenna pointing, enabling precise orientation and tracking. The unit rotates each axis by ±25°, with a slew rate ranging from 0.009 to 7.0 °/min, and achieves a rotation angle measurement error not exceeding 90 arcsec per axis. It develops a torque of not less than 65 N·m per axis and can handle a load inertia moment of up to 150 kg·m2. When the electric motors are de-energized, the unit provides self-braking torque of not less than 6 N·m per axis. It is designed to operate across a wide temperature range of -50 to +50 °C. The unit has an operational life of not less than 44,000 hours, an active lifetime of 10 years, and an overall guaranteed lifetime of 14 years. Estimated production/delivery time is 6 months.
