About
The Mobile Service Tower (MST) is a specialized piece of ground support equipment intended for the pre-launch preparation and launch of Intercontinental Launch Vehicles (ILV) carrying payloads such as automatic satellites and upper stages. Developed starting in 2013, the MST is designed with a guaranteed service life of 10 years. It is a mobile, weather-proof, and self-propelled structure capable of traversing inside a launch facility on two parallel railway tracks, each consisting of two rails. This mobility is facilitated by its traveling gear, which comprises four self-propelled balance trucks. The MST is equipped with gates at both its front and rear ends, providing access. It also features stationary and folding service platforms for personnel, an elevator, and a hoist with a 5-ton load capacity, which is part of its auxiliary equipment. For safety, an emergency evacuation system is integrated. The MST offers automatic coupling of electric and pneumatic lines and includes pest protection.
