About
The NanoAvionics UHF COMM 4G0 Half Duplex Modem is a 1U ground station modem designed to work with NanoAvionics satellite UHF transceivers COMM SAT2RF1-1D. It operates in two frequency bands: 401–403 MHz (commercial) or 430–440 MHz (amateur), each with dedicated narrowband RX SAW filters to reject out-of-band interference.
The modem features an optional SMA connector output for RX SDR monitoring, allowing operators to use a software-defined radio for signal visualization alongside the primary modem path. RX and TX LEDs on the front panel provide a clear visual indication of the current operating mode, simplifying ground operations. A CAN interface connects to the ground station server, and an RCA connector provides an uplink power amplifier enable control.
With receive sensitivity of -122 dBm at 2400 bps (GFSK2) and -119 dBm at 9600 bps (GFSK2), the modem enables reliable communication links for CubeSat and SmallSat missions.
