About
The Nitrogen System for Purge and Fire Protection is engineered to supply compressed nitrogen from a Compressed Gases Storage (CGSE) to an intermediate socket panel within a facility’s Compressed Gases Supply System. From there, the nitrogen is delivered through single-use pipelines into a Launch Vehicle (LV) for process purging of its aft compartments and engine combustion chambers. The system also provides fire protection capabilities. Key components of the system include a pneumovalve unit, a purge and pressure control board, a control pneumoboard, and a pressure indicator and sensor board. Development of this system began in 2002, and it offers the possibility to be adapted to specific customer requirements.
