About

This product page details three distinct audio management systems from Orbit: Orion™, ADAMS NexGen, and Radio Gateway.

Orion™ is an innovative airborne audio management system featuring a patented Dual IP Ring topology, providing exceptional 3D Audio, Adaptive Noise Reduction, and Voice-Activated Detection. It aims to enhance situational awareness, flight safety, and reduce pilot workload and fatigue. Its Dual IP Ring also offers inherent system redundancy, reduced aircraft weight, and incremental scalability for various civil or military platforms. Key features include Software-Defined Radio (SDR) support and operation via touchscreen or third-party control panels.

ADAMS NexGen is designed for complex and chaotic environments, providing advanced audio capabilities for Joint, All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) operations. It caters to large crew special mission aircraft, transport, and tankers with leading-edge audio fidelity. Based on a high-performance modular and scalable open architecture, it offers crisp and clear audio communication. Features include LCD operator panels, Ethernet/VoIP capability, AI-powered Active Noise Reduction, Voice Activated Detection (VAD), Spatial 3D Audio, superior crosstalk isolation, high configurability, extensive redundancy, high reliability, and virtual panel support.

The Radio Gateway is an end-to-end solution enabling Unmanned Air System (UAS) ground operators to access airborne radios for Air Traffic Control (ATC) communication via the UAS’s datalink, including satellite datalinks (BLOS). It consists of a fully certified avionics unit installed in the UAV and the Ground Control Station. It supports voice transmission/reception from the UAS operator to/from onboard radios via the datalink. Key features include airworthiness certification to DO-178C and DO-254, DO-160G and Mil-Std qualifications, voice communication over IP for analog and digital radio types, support for voice and data relay, identical units for airborne and ground control stations to reduce cost, voice compression standards (G.711 / G.729) for bandwidth minimization, VoIP & RoIP protocols readiness, redundancy between onboard units, and support for backup datalink and voice mode.
