About
Pale Blue’s Water Hall-effect Thruster is a high-power fully integrated propulsion system aimed at SmallSats up to 700 kg, offering an ideal balance of thrust and specific impulse. Based on traditional Hall thruster technology but optimized to operate on water propellant, the system delivers additional benefits from water’s physical properties including low storage pressure requirements. It is a fully integrated system including the thruster head, fluidics, PPU, and propellant tank; it is clusterable or configurable for tailored mission requirements. The propellant is preloaded at the factory. With 10 mN of thrust at 600 W and 180,000 Ns of total impulse, this system enables ambitious high-delta-V missions for SmallSat constellations and standalone platforms.
