About
The PMT-188 is a photomultiplier tube photodetector purpose-built for operation under exposure to strong magnetic fields (up to 4T) and radioactive fields (up to 2kGy). It features a bialkali (SbKCsO) photocathode and a one-cascade multiplication system, with an input window made of boron-silicate UV glass. The device has a photocathode diameter of 22 mm, an overall device diameter of 26.5 mm, and a length of 46 mm. It operates over a spectral response range of 220–650 nm, with photocathode luminous sensitivity of ≥60 μA/lm, dark current of ≤2 nA, and a supply voltage of 1000 V. Photocathode quantum efficiency at λ=420 nm is ≥18%, and the gain under a magnetic field of H=4T is ≥6. The product was first released in 2001, has a guaranteed service life of 4 years, and an estimated production/delivery time of 3 months. It is not flight-qualified but can be adapted to customer requirements.
