About
The Pyrolock is a component of the spacecraft separation device that attaches the spacecraft to the adapter for the period of their joint operation and provides shock-free separation using a command from the booster control unit. It achieves 8500 kg of clamping force using two pyro elements DP4-2, actuated by 2 A for 0.003 s. Mass is 0.37 kg. Operating temperature range is -90 to +100 °C. Released in 1980 with a 6-year service life. Flight-qualified on Glonass spacecraft.
