The Radiation Hard Photomultiplier of High Immunity to Magnetic Fields (PMT-187) is a photomultiplier tube intended for scintillation counting applications in high-energy physics, purpose-built for systems that must work under simultaneous exposure to strong magnetic fields, radioactive fields, and elementary particle flux. It features a bialkali (SbKCs) photocathode and a 15-cascade secondary-electronic amplifier built with mesh dynodes, which provides high immunity to magnetic field interference. The input window is made of boron-silicate UV glass, and the first dynode is of the ‘proximity’ type, contributing to fast response and stable gain performance even under magnetic exposure of 0.5 T. The device has a photocathode diameter of 20 mm, an overall device diameter of 30 mm, and a length of 55 mm. It offers a spectral response range of 220-650 nm, a photocathode luminous sensitivity of 60 μA/lm, very low dark current of 1·10-8 nA, and a fast pulse rise time of 1.4 ns at a supply voltage of 1800 V (for anode luminous sensitivity of 30 A/lm).
