RapidCube-50 is a cutting-edge 50 kg class CubeSat platform engineered to combine high-performance capabilities, flexibility, and robust features for modern NewSpace missions and services, suitable for scientific breakthroughs, commercial ventures, and pioneering satellite applications. The platform is failure-tolerant, achieving Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) through the use of three processor cores. It offers an available payload mass of up to 20 kg and an available payload volume of up to 36 x 18.5 x 44 cm3. Average payload power available is 30 W with Si cells or 50 W with GaAs cells (for a polar orbit, LTAN 12 am), with a peak power of up to 60 W per channel across up to five channels; the bus voltage is 12 V nominal, with 24 V also possible. Attitude determination accuracy is better than ±0.1° using a MEMS sun sensor, magnetometer, gyro, and star tracker, while 3-axis pointing accuracy is better than ±0.5°, achieved using reaction wheels and magnetorquers. Telemetry and telecommand operate in S-band at 2.0/2.2 GHz (FDD), supporting uplink rates up to 100 kbps and downlink rates up to 2 Mbps.
