About
The VSP-50 is Aerospacelab’s smallest production platform in the Versatile Satellite Platform (VSP) family, targeting missions in the ~50–70 kg total satellite mass range. It leverages the same modular subsystems and avionics architecture proven on the VSP-150, reducing development risk and enabling rapid integration.
The VSP-50’s thermo-mechanical envelope differs from the VSP-150, allowing payloads to face any direction — a key differentiator for RF sensing, optical, and hosted-payload applications. It is optimized for Low Earth Orbit and Sun-synchronous orbits, compatible with industry-standard launch interfaces including SpaceX Rideshare Transporter missions.
Designed for serial manufacturing and constellation deployment, the VSP-50 shares common tooling and supply chain with larger VSP platforms, enabling cost-effective multi-satellite orders.
