About
The Release Device (electromechanical, shock-free) Type 2 holds the mechanical device hold-down lock in the cocked position. It is a component of the hold-down system for spacecraft mechanical devices. The cylindrical device (Ø38 × 41.7 mm) provides 4 kg rod load resistance and is actuated by 2.45–8 A for 1.7 seconds, rated for at least 50 actuations. Mass is 0.05 kg. Operating temperature range is -100 to +100 °C. Released in 2017 with a 9-year service life and 4-month delivery time. Flight-qualified in 2019–2020.
