SL900x Universal Modulator

The SL900x is a family of fully Software Defined Radio (SDR) based Universal Base Band Modulator integrated circuits. It supports worldwide terrestrial and cable TV broadcast standards and can also be configured for non-standard, proprietary custom waveforms for closed-loop secure communication systems. The IC uses an indigenous SDR architecture with software-configurable standard and custom modulation schemes, integrated PLLs and DACs, and integrated interleaving support. It accepts a Digital Parallel Transport Stream (TS) as input and provides Zero-IF and Low-IF (up to 10MHz) analog outputs as well as digital output, with I2C used for programming and waveform download and JTAG/UART for diagnostics and debug. It supports single-carrier and multicarrier (OFDM) QPSK and 16/32/64/128/256 QAM modulation, and TV/cable/radio standards including ATSC, DVB-T, ISDB-T, Clear QAM, DVB-C and ISDB-C. The device is supplied in a 176-pin LFBGA package (12×12 mm, 0.80 mm ball pitch), operates on 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.2V power rails, and achieves a Modulation Error Rate greater than 40dB. It is a field-proven, low-footprint, low-power device with Windows-based parameter configuration utility and Windows/Linux drivers. Applications include video distribution head-end/hospitality TV/SMATV, surveillance and remote monitoring and control, tactical radio communication systems including satellite, terrestrial and cable modulators, secured and proprietary baseband waveform modulation, internal/external A/V transmitter modules for tablets, and emergency warning systems for disaster management.
