Scanway Optical Payload (SOP)

The Scanway Optical Payload (SOP) is a versatile product line of satellite cameras engineered for integration with nano- and microsatellites. These payloads are designed for a range of remote sensing applications, including Earth observation. SOP cameras are capable of imaging the space object’s surface across different spectral bands, including RGB, PAN, NIR, and SWIR, and also support multispectral imaging. They offer a Ground Sample Distance (GSD) ranging from less than 1 meter per pixel to 25 meters per pixel. A key feature of SOP space cameras is their athermal design, which ensures the maintenance of high imaging quality parameters even in the harsh space environment. The Scanway Camera System, part of this offering, is a series of small camera systems primarily designed to support space missions and decision-making by delivering information process flow. These systems are described as relatively simple, consisting of COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) optics, cameras, and various interfaces for image data acquisition and basic or advanced processing. The modularity of the solution allows for integration with a range of onboard computers across different satellite and spacecraft platforms.
