The Solar Array Drive Mechanism (SADM) Type 4 is an electromechanical device designed for rotation of solar array wings at a specified rate, transmission of electrical power along with control and telemetry signals, and shaping/generation of signals representing the output shaft rotation angle. It operates in a continuous rotation regime. The product was first released in 2000 and has a guaranteed service life of 15.5 years, with an operational life defined by hours of not less than 150,000 hours. Estimated production/delivery time is 12 months. The mechanism can be adapted to customer requirements. It has flight qualification with heritage on the following missions: Amos-5, Telcom-3, KazSat-3, Express-АТ1, Express-АТ2, Express-АМ8, Loutch-5A, Loutch-5B, and Loutch-5V. Technical characteristics include an output shaft rotation rate of 0-16 deg/min, an angle measurement error not exceeding 2.5°, a total current of power current-collecting devices of 90 A, 18 power supply circuits, and 15 telemetry circuits.
