About

The Solar Array Drive Mechanism Type 4 rotates solar array wings at a specified rate, transmits electrical power and telemetry signals, and measures shaft rotation angles. An electromechanical SADM with continuous rotation at 0–16 deg/min and 2.5° angle measurement error, it supports 90 A total current across 18 power circuits and 15 telemetry circuits. Compact at 156 × 260 × 223 mm, mass 4.3 kg. Released in 2000, 150,000+ hour operational life, 15.5-year guaranteed service life, 12-month delivery. Extensive flight heritage: Amos-5, Telcom-3, KazSat-3, Express-AT1/AT2/AM8, Loutch-5A/5B/5V.
