About

FDSS of Solar MEMS is a very accurate sun sensor immune to Earth albedo and any other unexpected albedo source. This sensor captures images of the Sun in less than one millisecond and identifies the Sun and any other light source, allowing it to collect extra information like the albedo vector. Its robustness is based on highly used COTS devices together with space grade parts, and it is plug & play, so it does not need any additional electronic support or module for operating. The optical head offers a full field of view of 140 x 140 degrees with an accuracy better than 0.1 degree, making it suitable for precise attitude determination on satellites and other space platforms. The optical head mounting is via M6 for rod and/or tripod, with customization available for specific mission integration needs. The sensor is designed to operate across a wide temperature range, both in vacuum and non-vacuum conditions, reflecting its space-grade design heritage from Solar MEMS’ sun sensor product line.
