About
The HSNS (Horizon Sensor for Nano and Micro Satellites) is a quad thermopile sensor from Solar MEMS for Earth detection and nadir vector determination. The device measures infrared radiation from space and Earth with four IR-eyes, providing accurate and reliable detection and attitude determination. Based on Solar MEMS’s long experience in attitude sensors and extensive IR sensing R&D, every HSNS is individually characterized and tested. The integrated microcontroller enables fast integration via UART or I2C protocol through a microD 15-pin connector. Space-grade components and a space-qualified microcontroller ensure reliability in the space environment.
