HummingSat is a small Geostationary (GEO) spacecraft platform developed by SWISSto12, described as the world’s first commercial Geostationary small satellite. It is designed to be affordable, agile, sovereign, and cost-effective, delivering advanced, highly performant payloads on a compact platform. The platform is aimed at commercial satellite operators looking to rapidly launch and monetize new connectivity services, as well as governments seeking a sovereign SATCOM capability. HummingSat offers a more flexible path to space compared to traditional large GEO satellites, enabling faster deployment and agility while maintaining geostationary reach for connectivity and protection coverage. It is built by SWISSto12, a company recognized in ViaSatellite’s ‘Top 10 Hottest Companies’ and as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, noted as the first growth-stage company to sell geostationary satellites to global satellite operators. SWISSto12 leverages its patented 3D printing (additive manufacturing) technology and largest IP portfolio for Space RF products based on additive manufacturing to enable complex, highly performing, lightweight antenna and RF component integration on the platform, with a stated heritage of over 1,000 3D-printed RF products in orbit operating across the L to Q-V frequency band spectrum.
