About
HummingSat is SWISSto12’s small geostationary satellite platform combining novel 3D-printed RF hardware with all-electric propulsion. The platform accommodates payloads in Ku, Ka, Q and V frequency bands with up to 3.5 kW available payload power. At under 500 kg wet mass, HummingSat enables operators to deploy flexible, high-capacity GEO communications satellites at lower cost than traditional 4–7 tonne platforms. The first HummingSat-derived satellites — HOTBIRD 13F and 13G for Eutelsat — were launched in 2022–2024. SWISSto12’s additive manufacturing technology reduces part count and integration time.
