About
The MAT.500A is a versatile 6-in-1 embedded antenna board designed for telematics devices. It integrates 2x LTE MIMO antennas covering 698-960/1710-2170/2490-2690/3300-3600MHz bands, 2x Wi-Fi® MIMO antennas for 2.4/5.8GHz, a GPS-GLONASS antenna, and a Satellite L Band 1621MHz antenna specifically for the Iridium satellite system. This combination provides worldwide 4G band support, including 3G and 2G, along with global satellite connectivity for backup. The board can serve as a reference design or an actual embedded antenna for applications such as fleet management, asset tracking, security/surveillance, remote asset and pipeline monitoring, HD video over LTE, first responder and emergency services, and global data communications/IoT. It features six IPEX connectors and 1.37mm coax cables. The design emphasizes high efficiency and high gain for MIMO antennas, with high isolation to prevent self-interference. Low loss cables maintain efficiency over longer lengths. The passive GPS-GLONASS antenna efficiently receives on both bands for higher location accuracy, while the omnidirectional Wi-Fi® antennas offer high efficiency and isolation in a compact structure. The embedded low axial ratio 1621MHz antenna provides connectivity to the Iridium satellite system, ensuring global coverage and a crucial backup in case of cellular network failure. Cable length and connector types are customizable.
