About

VACCO designs and manufactures thruster valves supporting attitude control, reaction control, and orbital maneuvering subsystems (OMS). The line includes monopropellant valves, bipropellant valves, and cold-gas propulsion systems built to meet the space industry’s demand for high cycle life, tight leakage, and quick response, using VACCO’s low-friction suspended-armature design proven on numerous flight programs. The 2-lbf Cold Gas Triad Thruster is an assembly of three identical 2-lbf thrusters mounted on a common manifold block along the X, Y and Z axes. Four of VACCO’s man-rated triad thruster assemblies were used on each Space Shuttle Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU).
