About
The X-band Transmitter is engineered for data transmission from lunar landers, lunar orbiters, and Lagrange-point spacecraft to ground stations. Released in 2019, it offers a guaranteed service life of 1 year and an estimated production/delivery time of 12 months. While not flight-qualified in its current iteration, a previous generation transmitter has flight heritage on the ISS, AIST-2D, and other missions. The product is adaptable to customer requirements and is certified for compatibility with ESA ground stations. It supports throughputs of 4 Mbps and up to 19 Mbps, operates in the 8450 – 8500 MHz frequency band, and provides an output power of 8 W. Modulation schemes include QPSK and 8PSK. The data interface is LVDS, featuring six ports (3 primary and 3 redundant) with 4 pairs each. The component-level radiation tolerance is specified as >6 krad. This transmitter is specifically designed for the Luna-25 lander and Luna-26 orbiter missions.
