About

The 3-channel X-band Multiplexer is a passive RF (high-frequency) device used within spacecraft flight communication equipment. Its purpose is to provide filtering of repeated X-band signals received from the three transfer devices (transponders) of the flight communication equipment, combining/separating the three channels while maintaining low insertion loss and high isolation between inputs. It has three operating frequency channels: Channel 1 spans 7494.5 to 7535 MHz (band center 7515 MHz), Channel 2 spans 7402 to 7438 MHz (band center 7420 MHz), and Channel 3 spans 7330 to 7371.5 MHz (band center 7350 MHz); each channel has insertion losses not exceeding 0.6 dB at the band center and reverse losses of not less than 18 dB at the band center. The device handles a nominal input power of 150 W and a maximum output power of 450 W, with isolation between inputs of not less than 20 dB. It was released in 2016, has a guaranteed service life of 15 years, and an estimated production/delivery time of 4 months.
