About

The 4-channel C-band Multiplexer is a passive high-frequency (HF) device used in flight communication equipment aboard spacecraft. Its purpose is to provide filtering of repeated C-band signals received from the four transfer devices of the communication payload, combining/separating the four channels while maintaining low insertion loss and high isolation. The unit was released in 2016, has a guaranteed service life of 15 years, and an estimated production/delivery time of 4 months. Each of the four channels operates in a distinct C-band frequency range with specified insertion losses (below 0.38-0.45 dB at the channel’s band center) and reverse (return) losses of not less than 18 dB at the band center. The device handles a nominal input power of 125 W and a maximum output power of 500 W, with isolation between inputs of not less than 20 dB.
