About

The Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, develops interference spectral imaging systems through its Key Laboratory of Spectral Imaging Technology. These instruments use Fourier-transform spectroscopy principles to capture two-dimensional spatial information simultaneously with full spectral resolution across visible to near-infrared wavelengths. XIOPM’s interference spectral imagers have been deployed as payloads on Chinese Earth observation satellites and are applied in environmental monitoring, agricultural assessment, mineral mapping, oceanography, and planetary science missions. The technology enables simultaneous acquisition of spatial and spectral data without scanning, making it ideal for remote sensing applications requiring high spectral resolution combined with high spatial resolution. XIOPM is a leading Chinese institution for space optical instruments and has contributed spectral imaging technology to multiple national satellite programs.
