About
Star sensor development is a core research field of the Laboratory of Space Optics Technology (LSOT) at the Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM, Chinese Academy of Sciences). LSOT combines space-borne optical design, novel imaging techniques, advanced image processing and instrument calibration expertise to produce star trackers for spacecraft attitude determination. The laboratory’s optical super-clean facilities support fabrication and testing of precision optical instruments, and its work is backed by numerous national-level programs carried out since the laboratory’s establishment in 1993.
