About
XIOPM’s Streak Camera and Electro-optical Conversion (SCEC) division designs and manufactures ultra-high-speed streak cameras used for recording transient optical phenomena with picosecond to nanosecond time resolution. These instruments are used in laser physics, inertial confinement fusion (ICF) research, plasma diagnostics, nuclear flash X-ray measurement, and ground testing of space optical systems. XIOPM is one of the few institutions in China capable of developing high-performance streak cameras, which convert time-varying light signals into spatial distributions that can be captured on a detector. Applications in the space domain include characterization of laser altimeters and lidar instruments, testing of pulsed laser sources for satellite payloads, and calibration of ultra-fast optical sensors. The cameras operate across a range of spectral bands from UV to near-IR and can be configured for visible, X-ray, or synchrotron applications.
