About
The Laboratory of Space Optics Technology (LSOT) at the Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM, Chinese Academy of Sciences) develops space-borne optical camera systems for remote sensing, astronomical observation and machine vision. Established in 1993, LSOT covers about 13,400 square meters including a large optical super-clean laboratory and dozens of electronics laboratories, enabling fabrication, testing and experimentation of space-borne cameras with apertures up to 3 meters. Research fields span star sensor technology, novel imaging techniques, advanced image processing and instrument calibration. LSOT employs 96 staff including 14 professors, and has delivered numerous national-level space optics programs.
