Yuzhnoye SDO develops and manufactures a family of solid-propellant main engines for space launch vehicles and orbital reboost stages. These include high-energy composite propellant main engines with carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) cocoon-type casings and swiveling control nozzles for pitch and yaw thrust vector control. Main engines for space launch vehicles achieve external diameters up to 2,000 mm with thrust up to 150 tf. Reboost stage engines feature diameters up to 1,250 mm and thrust up to 10 tf, also with CFRP casings and swiveling nozzles. Additionally, Yuzhnoye produces a complete range of solid-propellant special engines including pulsed control motors, launch-boost motors, roll control motors, meteorological rocket soft-landing motors, stage slowdown motors, spacecraft deployment motors, and launch gas generators for mortar-type missile ejection.
