About
ProtonVPX-Box is a modular digital avionics platform designed to accommodate multiple configurations to meet mission objectives. The system utilizes a high-speed 3U VPX mesh backplane, which precludes the need for SRIO switches and SpW routers, simplifying system architecture and reducing component count. It is encased in a rugged thick-wall aluminum chassis for structural protection and thermal management. The platform is anchored by a Proton600K multi-core, high-performance space processor. In its baseline configuration, the system ships as a 5-slot module comprising: Proton600K Multi-Core Computer, SSR (Solid State Recorder), Digital I/O, Analog I/O, and Power Supply. Its modular slot-based architecture allows the platform to be reconfigured to meet different mission-specific compute, storage, and interface requirements.
