5G NB-IoT NTN UE Software

The 5G NB-IoT NTN UE software is Gatehouse Satcom’s terminal-side protocol stack for manufacturers developing 5G NTN-capable devices on SDR hardware platforms. It offers an alternative to standard chipsets for use cases where operators need special features or want to upgrade already-deployed devices to include 5G NTN connectivity without introducing new chipsets, making it well suited to government and defense applications. The software is offered as an independent stack implemented in plain C++, as well as platform-optimized stacks and FPGA code, allowing several technologies to be combined on the same COTS SDR hardware. Target applications span emergency and rescue services in remote areas, connected logistics and transportation, agricultural IoT sensors, and pipeline monitoring for oil and gas, addressing a market GSMA Intelligence estimates at approximately 1.9 billion NB-IoT NTN addressable devices by 2035. The software complies with 3GPP Release 17 L- and S-band definitions, with extensions planned through Release 18 and 19.
