5G NTN Feasibility Study

Gatehouse Satcom’s 5G NTN Feasibility Study is a consulting engagement that provides detailed simulations, analysis and recommendations on the potential strengths and weaknesses of a customer’s planned 5G NTN service, tailored to the specific combination of technology (New Radio, NB-IoT or eMTC) and satellite network architecture being considered. The study generally covers system capacity calculations, performance trade-offs, and recommendations for maximizing performance under the chosen link and fading conditions and network configuration. The engagement starts by identifying the target technology and the customer’s overall objective — whether analyzing an existing system’s achievable performance or working backward from a desired performance target — before defining the specific questions, required inputs, work packages and expected deliverables.
