About
The VSP-300 is the largest production platform in Aerospacelab’s Versatile Satellite Platform (VSP) family, targeting missions requiring approximately 300 kg total satellite mass. It shares the same modular architecture and supply chain as the VSP-150 and VSP-50, scaling payload capacity and structural envelope for more demanding mission requirements.
The VSP-300 has been selected by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) for its SAMRAI project, underscoring the platform’s suitability for institutional scientific and space situational awareness missions. The platform is built around the same standardized modular core optimized for serial manufacturing, reducing non-recurring engineering costs for multi-satellite programs.
With Aerospacelab’s Megafactory in Charleroi (Belgium) targeting 500 satellites per year, the VSP-300 is designed for production scalability alongside the smaller VSP variants. The platform supports LEO and SSO orbits and can accommodate optical, SAR, RF sensing, and telecom payloads.
