About

The SNG-2500C is a rack mount spectrum analyzer designed for the measurement of communications and broadcast carriers, making uplink, downlink, L-band carriers, IF, and 10MHz reference signals easy to monitor and measure. It provides frequency and amplitude accuracy along with resolution bandwidth (RBW) selection from 10kHz to 1MHz, enabling viewing and monitoring of small Telemetry, Tracking, Command Systems (TT&C) and data carriers found in many satellite communications markets. The front panel allows control of Frequency & Span with Fine, Medium, and Coarse settings so operators can dial into carriers and control the display as needed. Persistence, averaging, or waterfall tools allow periodic signals like TDMA or noisy carriers to be more easily detected. The unit features a simple, low-cost, easy-to-use design with a VGA color display, 10 customizable presets, and up to 6 customizable inputs. It is sized to fit into a Tektronix 1700 series dual mount tub. Fast refresh rates up to 13 times per second are supported, along with 50 user memory locations and L.O. frequency offsets for direct frequency readout. The SNG can be monitored and controlled both locally from the front panel and remotely via the Avcom Remote Control Software over serial port or optional Ethernet. The remote software offers an intuitive interface requiring no special training, and supports screen shot capture recording, SNMP for alarm/monitoring, crosspolling, markers, Automated Data Acquisition (DAQ) with tolerance comparison, and integrated email alerts, with up to twelve windows displayable at once. The software is available for Windows. Options include rackmounts, extended amplitude range solutions, down converters for extended frequency coverage, and LNB power.
