About

Beyond Gravity offers a modular family of Solar Array Drive Mechanisms to serve a large range of spacecraft. The SEPTA42 is available at attractive prices and lead times and can be produced in large quantities. More than 100 flight models have been produced already.

For the specific needs of small satellites and constellations, Beyond Gravity developed the SEPTA42 SADM. This mechanism is designed to greatly reduce cost without impacting reliability. The SEPTA42 comes with the same gold-on-gold slip rings as the high-power SADMs, for maximum reliability and good noise performance. Alternatively, the SEPTA42 can also be equipped with a cable wrap.

Modularity for lowest cost: a family of SADM for a large range of missions, standard mechanical interfaces and a standard actuator module for all types. Interfaces remain the same regardless of power class, which makes it ideal for scalable platforms. The configuration comprises an actuator module with one or two slip rings, or a cable wrap.

Robust and proven: flight proven slip ring technology, a standard actuator enabling industrial scale production, TRL8 completed for all variants with TRL9 by projected launch end of 2025, more than 100 flight models delivered to customers, and proven combinations with drive electronics (SADE) available.

High cadence at short lead times: a new cleanroom for state-of-the-art assembly and testing, up to 18 units per month, and rolling stock for lead times of 12 months.
