About
The BHT-1500 is a 2kW-class Hall Effect thruster featuring an innovative center-mounted cathode, a two-piece “composite” anode, and a shortened dielectric channel. The internally mounted cathode improves performance, reduces sensitivity to cathode flow rate and vacuum facility background pressure, and lowers plume divergence. Independent testing at The Aerospace Corporation showed 10% higher specific impulse and 15% higher thrust efficiency than the nearest competing HET product, translating into significant launch mass savings for GEO communications satellites.
