About

The EBAD TiNi™ Ejector Release Mechanism E250 is a derivative of the TiNi™ Pin Pullers, employing a Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) wire threaded through a latch and attached to electrical contacts. This latch retains internal ball bearings that hold compressed drive springs in place before actuation. A smaller internal reset spring assists in the reset process. Additional ball locks are incorporated between the output pin and the coupler, with a kick-off spring helping to keep external ball locks in place after actuation. The ejector is fully vented, typically featuring an aluminum alloy enclosure and a custom 455 SS coupler with a tiolon finish. Alternative voltages are accommodated by an internal resistor to prevent SMA wire overheating. It is suitable for parachute releases, underwater actuations, and modifications into other mechanisms like gas cylinder penetrators.
