About
The GDP Space Systems Model 2265EC is a multi-channel PCM Bit Synchronizer and Encapsulator that houses up to 4 high-performance bit synchronizer channels in a compact 2U rack-mount chassis. As a key component of a telemetry ground station, it reconstructs the input data stream and recovers the clock with high fidelity so that downstream processing systems (frame synchronizers, decommutators) can produce the most meaningful information. The optimized digital design of the 2265EC affords industry-leading performance: better than 1dB from theoretical Eb/No down to -3dB, at input signal levels down to 100mV, which significantly reduces lock dropouts on downstream equipment and results in more usable data during receiver fade and multipath conditions typical of flight test and range telemetry missions. In addition to standalone bit synchronization, the 2265EC can operate as a data encapsulator for GDP’s Diversity Combiner / Best Source Selector product line, converting recovered bit streams and clock/quality data into an encapsulated Ethernet (TMoIP) output for downstream best-source processing.
