GMV Brave®

GMV Brave® is a software platform for monitoring, reporting, and analyzing the performance of Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS). It automates tasks like running SBAS algorithm test benches and provides detailed analysis of system performance and anomalies.

About

GMV Brave® is an engineering, analysis, and validation platform for Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS). It provides a service for monitoring, reporting, and analyzing the performance of an SBAS system. The platform automates tasks such as the execution of SBAS algorithm test benches, like magicSBAS, which analyzes the performance obtained. It generates a comprehensive set of results that allow for quick visualization and analysis of any incident or degradation in the SBAS system’s performance. GMV utilizes GMV Brave® as a tool for the daily analysis of the performance of EGNOS’s CPFPS subsystem, and the performance of the magicSBAS test bench, integrated into the Australian and New Zealand SBAS.

Key functions include: integrating and automating a wide range of tools for SBAS algorithm engineering and analysis; comparing performance obtained with various types of SBAS algorithms; evaluating performance indicators to detect system degradations or anomalies; anticipating potential anomalies that could affect SBAS performance; preliminary analysis of feared events; and testing and validating evolutions and improvements of SBAS algorithms using real or simulated data scenarios.

The GMV Brave® platform offers multiple functionalities, primarily serving as:
– SBAS Performance Monitoring Platform: A tool for system-level and user-level monitoring of daily SBAS system performance, with easy web interface monitoring, rapid detection of unexpected events, and historical archiving of SBAS performance.
– Daily Performance Analysis Platform: Preliminary analysis of incidents leading to system performance degradations, production and easy visualization of SBAS algorithm behavior, and generation of daily performance reports.
– Algorithmic Evolution Analysis Platform: A test bench for experimental SBAS algorithms, offering easy scalability and allowing users to work on smaller scopes within larger projects.

Main components of the platform include: Measures and input data (automatically obtains reference measures for SBAS systems, GNSS data, and ionosphere data); Algorithm engineering platform (executes SBAS algorithms and analyzes their internal states); eclayr (a tool to evaluate precision, continuity, availability, and integrity obtained with SBAS algorithms); Additional analysis tools (customized tools for post-processing internal SBAS algorithm data and eclayr performance analyses); and a Web Platform (intuitive interface organizing and displaying analysis results as figures and key performance indicators).

GMV Brave® provides a daily report with SBAS performance at both system and algorithmic levels, offering: SBAS signal in space (SIS) analysis (IGP monitoring, safety index, temporal evolution of GIVD error, SV monitoring, residual error, UDRE evolution, additional information from SBAS messages); User-level SBAS performance (availability, continuity, precision, and integrity maps by service like APV-I, LPV200, NPA, and by GEO channel); Algorithm analysis (number of measurements, equipment bias for stations and satellites, clock errors, compensations and drifts, orbit determination errors); Ionosphere analysis (vertical and horizontal error per station, service quality); and a history of key performance indicators.
