About
The Harmonic Drive Type 2 is a high-precision gear drive used as part of a high-precision antenna pointing system for spacecraft. It achieves ±30 arcsec transfer error (improved over Type 1), 40 arcsec lost motion, and ±9 arcsec repeatability, with a minimum operational life of 200,000 revolutions. Dimensions are Ø85 × 34 mm (deeper housing than Type 1). Released in 2014 with a 15-year guaranteed service life and 2-month delivery time.
