LIDAX Flexible Thermal Straps (FTS) are specialized solutions for efficient and reliable heat transfer in demanding space environments. They are available in two primary material configurations: copper and pyrolytic graphite. Copper FTS provide a robust and cost-effective solution for thermal management, designed to ensure efficient heat transfer without restricting mechanical flexibility. They offer excellent performance at both room temperature and cryogenic conditions, making them ideal for electronic units, power systems, high-stability payloads, and platforms requiring reliable thermal dissipation. Pyrolytic graphite FTS are designed for space applications requiring high thermal conductance with reduced mass impact, thanks to their excellent conductance-to-weight ratio. These are especially suitable for New Space platforms, payloads, and high-sensitivity instrumentation where thermal efficiency and lightweight integration are critical. Both types of FTS are engineered to transfer heat efficiently between critical components, accommodate relative movement and mechanical constraints, improve thermal stability in sensitive systems, and reduce overall system mass. LIDAX offers qualified standard solutions with optimized lead times, designed and validated for demanding aerospace applications, as well as mission-specific customization tailored to thermal, mechanical, and integration requirements. The manufacturing and inspection processes adhere to strict quality standards to ensure reliability, repeatability, and performance under demanding space conditions, with rigorous quality control throughout development and production. The GTS Project, which developed LIDAX Graphite Thermal Straps, was funded by the Community of Madrid and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Innovation Voucher Programme.
