About
Lion is an advanced data processing unit for satellites, utilizing a Kintex Ultrascale FPGA to deliver enhanced resilience and processing power for critical applications. It is designed to meet the rigorous demands of ESA Mission Class III and IV, making it suitable for satellites up to 600 kg. The core modules of Lion are highly recurrent, allowing them to be reused across various missions with different performance and interface requirements. This flexibility enables the integration of new functions and interfaces without the need to redesign core modules, leading to improved quality over time due to growing heritage. Lion supports key applications such as vision-based relative navigation for precise close-proximity tasks, multi-sensor data processing for advanced autonomous operations, and autonomous spacecraft operations for independent adaptation to changing mission conditions. It is compatible with the HyperScape100 hyperspectral camera by Simera Sense and integrated with Parsimoni’s SpaceOS for high-performance onboard data processing and secure software management.
