About
The Mechanical Unit of Antenna Pointing System, Type 2, provides rotation of the mounting plane for an antenna relative to the mounting plane of the antenna pointing system control module in two mutually perpendicular planes. It is a two-degree-of-freedom electromechanical drive designed for precise antenna pointing on spacecraft. Each of the two axes can rotate ±25° with a slew rate ranging from 0.009 to 7.1 °/min, and the measurement error of the rotation angle for each axis does not exceed 90 arcsec. The unit develops a torque of not less than 30 N·m per axis and can handle a load inertia moment of up to 3 kg·m2. In a de-energized state, the electric motors provide self-braking torque of not less than 4 N·m per axis. The unit is designed to operate across a temperature range of -50 to +50 °C, with an operational life of not less than 44,000 hours, an active lifetime of 10 years, and an overall guaranteed lifetime of 14 years. Estimated production/delivery time is 6 months.
