About
The Mechanical Unit of Antenna Pointing System, Type 4, is an electromechanical drive with two degrees of freedom. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the rotation of an antenna’s mounting plane relative to the control module’s mounting plane, enabling movement in two mutually perpendicular axes. This system supports both tracking and pointing operating regimes. Key features include a rotation angle of ±16° for each axis, a slew rate ranging from 0 to 7 °/min, and a measurement error of the rotation angle not exceeding 60 arcsec. It can develop a torque of at least 30 N·m per axis and handle a load inertia moment of up to 30 kg·m². The unit also features a self-braking torque of at least 11 N·m per axis when the electric motors are de-energized. Designed for a wide operating temperature range of -30 to +60 °С, it boasts an operational life of not less than 88,000 hours, an active lifetime of 15 years, and an overall guaranteed lifetime of 19.5 years. The product was released in 2014 with an estimated production/delivery time of 6 months.
