About
Mica Thermofoil heaters consist of an etched foil element sandwiched between layers of mica. These heaters are installed by clamping to heat sinks and offer ultimate temperature and wattage capability for rapid warmup. They are designed for high watt density, up to 110 W/in², which leads to faster processing times compared to conventional mica heaters. Custom profiling and mechanical clamping capabilities ensure uniform temperature distribution. Minco’s Mica Thermofoil heaters can be factory formed to curves and offer a broad temperature range from -150°C to 600°C (-238°F to 1112°F), facilitating faster processing and cycle times for increased production output. UL certification is available, which can save time and money for end-use UL device recognition. These heaters are employed in aerospace and automotive applications for tasks like composite curing, de-icing systems, and engine preheating, ensuring reliability and safety in critical components.
